With powerful integrated motors and high-resolution digital encoders, the MoSys Lambda Digital Remote Head provides the instantaneous feel of direct drive and smooth operation.

Catering for the bigger camera packages up to of 120 pounds. Initially, the Lambda was designed as a motion control head, where zero backlash and accuracy is a must.

Zero backlash for a remote head means that the head is significantly more responsive because no “ramping” is needed to take up the slack. The head is totally responsive and lag free.

The head is based on the highly successful fluid Lambda head from Cartoni.

The manufacturer kept all the specifications that Cartoni gave the Lambda, like it’s tool-less adjustability, it’s compactness and ability to expand into a “bigger head”, and it’s low-mode capability that allows the camera to skim just above a surface.

Military-approved aircraft-quality connectors have been used almost exclusively throughout, and metalwork is hard-anodized aluminum / stainless steel construction where possible. The drive systems utilize zero-backlash, very low maintenance gearboxes.

Precision: The custom-designed control system of the Mega III has an extremely intuitive functionality such that operators feel confident when operating or adjusting the system.

The Mega III is also know for its precision, such that the camera is where the operator has asked it to be. There is no drift, and the head checks its position over 300 times a second to ensure utmost accuracy, with pan and tilt encoding to the order of over 2,500 counts per degree of head movement.

The operator has the position indicated on an “at-a-glance” graph, along with a precise numerical readout.

Post Production: Recorded moves can be stored to PC either for re-playing at a later date, for storing multiple moves, or for output to MAYA or compatible packages. This makes tracking the position of the head very simple.

Also available is a real-time encoder logging system which can store the encoder positions every microsecond, and can be cascaded for up to 16 axes of motion capture. Please note that both these systems are only available on request.

Easy to use, remote camera motion system that synchronizes to most cameras for true, frame accurate motion control. It features un-compromised, zero-backlash drive mechanics for precision, power, and low maintenance. [more...]

Easy to use, remote camera motion system that synchronizes to most cameras for true, frame accurate motion control.

Very quick to set up – typically takes less than 1 Hour

Portable – perfect for field use, runs off 24V battery, complete system including dolly fits in a car.

Affordable – Not much more than a normal remote head

Direct digital control- fast, accurate, zero-lag response

The MoSys Lambda Motion Control camera head shares all the advantages and versatility of the regular Cartoni Lambda head on which it is based – 360deg tilt, unrivaled ease of adjustment and rock solid engineering. It features un-compromised, zero-backlash drive mechanics for precision, power, and low maintenance.

Used in conjunction with our lightweight motorised dolly the MoSys is one of the most versatile true motion control systems available. To complete the system the 3-axis Lens Control Module gives you remote/motion control of Focus, Iris and Zoom, can be easily configured to control small model movers.

The system uses embedded processors and our proprietary menu driven software that is as easy to use as a cassette recorder. “Programming” or teaching could not be simpler – moves can be recorded live, in real time by your crew, using tried and trusted means such as hand wheels or pan-bar. Key frame input is not required but can of course be used. Exact positions set at key points in a move are automatically converted into a smooth curve motion by the systems embedded computers – the process couldn’t be simpler.

The exact motion is stored in internal, non-volatile memory. It can be replayed again and again, at any speed, re-recorded or modified, all in sync with the shutter of the camera. It takes only a few minutes to master the basics of the MoSys control system.

The MoSys head is also available as a two axis repeatable remote head that can be under slung and used on a crane. The MoSys Intelligent Motion Control System can be used for many different operations and in many different configurations:

As Motion Control for perfect multi-pass techniques

As a Remote head operable up to 100m away, and easily underslung for use on cranes

As a studio Geared Head with hand wheels mounted directly on the head
